WENDY H. OUTLAND (aka "WHO") received her BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design and has worked in arts administration for 27 years. She has served as curator, editor, grants panelist, workshop presenter and coordinator for numerous projects and events. Outland's background includes ten years with the Florida Department of State. During that period she was in charge of the state's public art program and director of the Capitol Complex Exhibition Program which included five venues. In 1991, she became the first employee of Blue Spiral 1 in Asheville, NC, where she worked for nearly twelve years. Under her management, BS1 grew to become one of the Southeast's premier fine art and craft galleries. She has served on the board of the Asheville Area Arts Council and currently is on the boards of HandMade in America and the American Craft Council / Southeast Region. In 2004, Outland founded her own business, WHO KNOWS ART, as an independent art consultant, serving visual artists, arts organizations, galleries and collectors.
