Since 1994, the Arts Business Institute has held 100+ workshops across the United States and Canada, bringing its team of art marketing and business experts to communities where artists are in need of professional advice related to the development of their fine art or craft businesses.

The Arts Business Institute partners with arts organizations, universities, economic development organizations and, government arts councils to create one and two-day professional development workshops for artists and makers. Workshops are designed to be local fundraisers for our local sponsors. 

Our Unique Approach

Our unique turnkey approach offers everything you need to offer your members and art community leaders a high-level professional development experience, sustainable business strategies and tangible results.

Each workshop is designed to meet the needs of artists at each level of professional development from aspiring hobbyist to seasoned professional studio artist. From course topics to private artist consultations, the Arts Business Institute provides your community with the essential elements needed to expand and grow your arts community and the individual businesses of artists and artisans.

Cost $0

No grants are needed to bring a workshop to your members. We provide our partners with the tools to cultivate sponsors, scholarships and in-kind donations. For most sponsoring organizations, an ABI Workshop is a money-making opportunity! Even small organizations can afford. 

Marketing & Administration

Beginning at least 4 months in advance, we work our partners and sponsors to build excitement, customize the workshop experience for your members and community, create a marketing and outreach plan, and assist you with outreach to prospective local business partners and foundations.

We create your workshop landing page, process registrations and promote your workshop nationwide. Our staff maintains the roster, communicates with students, and provides marketing support.

ABI provides a compelling selection of lecture topics, nationally-known speakers, and valuable handout materials.

Arts Business Institute faculty members range from artists and painters to webmasters, bloggers, accountants and gallery owners.
