Does Your Artwork Deserve a NICHE Award?

Whether you are a professional craft artist or a student, you can submit images of your work to the prestigious NICHE Awards. But hurry, the deadline is September 16th!

The 2014 NICHE Awards committee invites American and Canadian artists to submit images of their artwork for consideration in this annual competition. Originally started in 1989, the NICHE Awards celebrates innovation and excellence in fine craft, and is widely anticipated in the industry each year.

Artists may submit images in any of the following categories: Ceramics, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, and Wood, and additionally in Holiday Ornaments and Decorations and Objects for the Kitchen and for Dining, new categories just added this year.

Only work that has been completed or introduced since September 1, 2012 is eligible to be submitted.

Of course, excellent photography is a must to make the best possible presentation. The NICHE FAQ states, “The best contest images, like product shots, are centered, in focus, and as close-up as possible while capturing the whole piece and its major details.”
